How to Apply for Membership in the Bárány Society

Every member is at liberty to propose new members. To qualify for membership, applicants should, according to the Society Rules, be “active in otoneurology or vestibular research, have an academic degree in this or in a closely related field or have the equivalent of an academic degree or professional or scientific experience in otoneurology or vestibular research.” Each nomination for membership should be approved by one member in addition to the proposer.

Each nomination is examined by the Membership Committee, which consists of the following four members:

  • Per-Olof Eriksson, Sweden
  • Mikael Karlberg, Sweden

Membership Fee 2025

US$60.00 / €50.00 Annual Fee

We are pleased to announce that the Bárány Society membership fee remains unchanged for 2025 at US$ 60 / 50.

Members will receive a fee payment reminder for the current year.

According to the Bárány Society bylaws, at the age of 60 years or more any member in good standing who has been a member for a total of 20 years or more may at his or her own request be placed on the retired list and be exempt from further payment of dues.
